The Art of Healing
An Introductory
Meditation Course

Introduction
What you will find.
There will be the image of the card, a key
question, a mantra and a key phrase. Each card will have a suggested connection
with the tarot [1].
Before you begin.
Find a quiet space in which to work where you won’t
be disturbed. Turn off the screensaver on your computer, and the phone. It is
recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothes. Have a blanket ready in
case you feel cold after the exercise, and a glass of water. A light meal or
snack can often be grounding after meditation. Have nearby your journal and
something to write with, for noting your impressions; you will do this three
times during each exercise.
Before working with the cards, make a note of how
you feel; pay attention to any physical sensations, emotions, images, any
intuition that you may have. A list of Self-Awareness Questions you might want
to ask yourself can be found under ‘Your Journal’ below.
After noting your initial impressions, briefly read
through the notes for the card before doing the meditation. Pay particular
attention to the Key Question; make a note of your response to this, together
with the Key Phrase and Mantra. You will revisit the notes in depth later. Please note that if you
have difficulty with reading or writing this can be accommodated, so please contact us to discuss this.
The meditation.
Sit on a
comfortable chair with your back straight.
Slowly take
three deep breaths, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Close your eyes and visualise white light coming
down from the heavens into the top of your head. From here the light travels
through you, along your spine and into the earth. It continues its journey into
the centre of the earth, grounding you and connecting you to the heavens at the
same time.
Open your eyes and focus upon the image and
repeating the Mantra to yourself. Allow the image to become part of you and hold
it in your awareness as you close your eyes once more.
Allow yourself to be in the energy until it reaches
a natural conclusion. Sit peacefully for a while longer and allow the
impressions to become part of you.
Hold this new awareness within you as you re-orient
yourself to your surroundings. Feel your body on the chair beneath you.
Recognise familiar objects in the room and prepare your thoughts for your
journal.
Your journal [1]
When you are ready, make a note of how you feel.
Don’t think about it at this time, just write or draw your impressions. As you
write or draw you may find different elements emerging; stay with this process
and avoid analysing at this stage.
Self-awareness questions.
Revisit the Self-Awareness Questions asked
beforehand from your new perspective:
How do you feel physically?
What emotions are you experiencing?
What images or colours come to mind?
Do you have any intuitions?
Now ask yourself these additional questions:
How does your energy feel? It may be lighter, heavier,
or more spacious for example.
What are the main differences between your first
impressions and your second?
How does it all relate to the Key Phrase?
What is your response to the Key Question at this
time? Does it differ in any way?
Bringing it all together.
Read the notes that accompany the card once more,
this time in more depth, allowing each word to resonate with your recent
experience. Make notes in your journal for the third time.
It is a good idea to leave a few days before moving
on to the next card. In between, continue with your journal, asking the Self
Awareness Questions on a daily basis.
Once you have reached this stage, you will need to
e-mail a summary of your notes to your tutor for feedback. An important aspect
of the work is the ongoing dialogue between your tutor and yourself.
Please Note
Meditation can be wonderful. It can be uplifting
and powerful and help us to feel connected to All That Is. It can also be
challenging, bringing up issues which are ready for attention, both from this
life and from others. If this should be part of your experience, please see it
as an important part of your journey. Should this challenge feel overwhelming,
or too much to cope with alone, we are only an e-mail away.
You may, if you wish, explore the energies of the
Kereve Cards further by studying its relationship with the Tarot (Please see
footnote 2).
Further Information
If you wish to contact us or would like more
information about the Kereve System, the course or the Cornish Tarot,
please e-mail.
[1] Your journal is for your eyes only; your
tutor will not ask to see its content; it is merely for you to reflect upon
your impressions and how these have changed, if at all, over the course of the
exercise.

Please note that the Tarot referred to throughout the notes is ‘Tarot Kernow - the
Cornish Tarot’ which was developed in conjunction with the Kereve Cards.
