The Chakras
The Chakras
The word Chakra
comes from Sanskrit and means wheel, as traditionally the image of each chakra
is a spinning wheel of light.
The Chakras are
energy centres throughout the body which help to distribute spiritual energy.
The energy enters the body via the top of the head and flows downwards along
the spine through the brow, throat, heart, solar
plexus, sacral and into the base. These are known as the major chakras. There
are other minor chakras within the body, such as in the palms of the hands.
The Seven Major Chakras
Crown
Our
connection to the cosmos; where the universal energy enters our physical being.
Brow
Helping
us focus our psychic and intuitive abilities; higher mental faculties.
Throat
Connection
to our higher self and spiritual guidance, helping us to speak our truth.
Heart
The
unconditional love centre, where spiritual energy from the heavens and physical
energy from the earth meet.
Solar Plexus
A
network connecting us to the human collective mind, an aid to ideas and
communication.
Sacral
To
do with emotions, creativity and personal fire.
Base
Where
we connect to everything that is manifest on the planet.
