The Art of Healing
An Introductory
Meditation Course

Meditations
The additional meditations that accompany the course
are developmental, and entirely voluntary. Successful completion of the course
does not depend on doing these meditations. However, as you work through the
cards each of these will become more accessible to you and you may wish to use
them to further enhance your spiritual development.
Periodically, sense into each meditation in turn.
Does the starting point resonate with you? If not, wait. However, if you feel a
particular meditation calling to you, then follow your intuition. There are no
rules or guidelines here; no regulations to stipulate how, when or why. If you
listen to your inspiration you will know the right time to tackle each and, at
that time, you will gain the most benefit. The important message here is to
listen to the Divine. Remember that there are no short cuts and no need to
hurry.
Because of the power of these meditations it is
especially important that you ensure that you are fully grounded upon
completion. If you retain any sense of unreality, or if you feel spacey in any
way, there are steps you can take:
First sip the water at your side. Visualise a shaft of light flowing from your crown through
all off your energy centres down into the earth.
Really sense this energy leaving your feet, passing through the crust of the
Earth to its core, and wrapping itself around a point in the very centre of the
Earth. Breathe through this cord and feel your feet becoming firm upon the
ground and your energies settling. Switch your weight first to the left foot
then to the right then both together to ensure an even balance. Is your head
becoming clearer? Do you feel fully in your body? When you are sure that the
answer to this is yes, have something to eat and drink, but no alcohol.
The Heart of the
Imagine you are standing in
a field with long grass waving in a gentle breeze. The ground slopes away to a
winding stream. There are no sounds except for the babbling brook and the sweet
sound of the birds singing. All is at peace as you walk down towards the stream
and see stepping-stones. How many stones are there? Carefully walk across onto
the bank at the other side.
Walking up the path you
find the ground begins to level out and in the distance you see a vast forest.
Walk slowly towards this ancient and sacred woodland and, when you arrive at
the entrance, don’t forget to ask permission of the Forest Guardians to enter
their domain. Remember that this is their territory and it is only through
their kindness that we can enter into their sanctuary.
Following the path you soon
arrive at a clearing. At its centre is a very large and incredibly ancient oak
tree. Beside this wonderful tree is another Guardian, and you must ask
permission to climb up into its branches.
Once this is granted, climb
up into the branches, where you will find an emerald green tree house. Enter;
once inside take a good look around. Is it empty, dusty, full of old unwanted
junk, in need of repair, or is it beautiful, welcoming, a haven of tranquility?
If it needs work doing to it, do what is necessary. If you need help, then
there are plenty of magical beings who are willing to be of service, once you
ask nicely; remember to thank them after it has all been done.
Once this tree house is as
you would wish, take some time to relax and let the tree give you healing to
replenish any that you have spent doing all that renovation, or to have that
extra bit of energy that you need at this moment.
When you feel you have all
the healing you need and are ready to return, then close the tree house door,
thank the tree and climb down where the Guardian is waiting for you with two
gifts. One is a silver rod almost as tall as you are with clear quartz crystals
at either end and around is twined several strands of delicate gold thread. The
other gift is a crystal of your own choosing. Thanking the Guardian you walk away.
At the edge of the clearing you turn and look back, knowing that this sacred
tree will always be with you in your heart.
Walking down the path to
the entrance of the forest, you reflect back on what you have found here, and
know that you can go back to that tree house anytime you wish, just by thinking
about it. Soon you arrive at the edge of the forest where the Guardians are
waiting.
Thanking the Guardians, you
say goodbye and start to walk back to the stream and the stepping-stones. Once across the stepping stones and into the
field of the long grass, you become aware of where your physical body is, and
with every single step you take you come back into the physical everyday world,
fully aware of where you are and of this present moment in time and when you
are ready open your eyes to a new world.
Please
note: You may repeat this meditation as many times as you wish, substituting a
different colour for the tree house, violet for instance to represent the crown
chakra; trust your intuition in this.
Further meditations are available in the book based upon the course and
in the Members’ Section.
